Doc Appointment Update

Boy, was my doctor thrilled!

It had been almost 6 months since I'd seen her last (and 65 pounds ago) and she just couldn't stop saying WOW! She said I could be the poster girl for non-surgical weight-loss (we had seriously talked lapband 2 years ago) and just couldn't get over how good I was doing.

That's always nice to hear from your doctor.

I really do find your weight loss so inspiring. I was thinking to myself the other day, feeling hopeless about ever getting it done for myself, and I thought to myself, well hey Chari is doing it!!! I could maybe kinda sorta do it too.

Although the fact that you're such a good cook probably helps :D.

Awesome Chari! Ur doing better than me. My A1C is 5.9 and my cholesterol was down from a little over 200 to 150. Of course, my A1C was about 6.something. I don't even remember and that was from the last pregnancy. I just switched all my dairy to low fat as far as my cholesterol went and of course this little one keeps me on my toes as far as exercise goes, so there u have it w/out really trying. Ur story is amazing! I'm so proud of u esp. for going the nonsurgical route. I know it can be done because both Tony and I started doing it (and we love cooking too), but we went the Nutrisystem route post baby number one. We'll do it again post nursing baby number two. I know some need the surgery, but if u don't have to have it, it's definitely better. It's so invasive even the one they call "less invasive". It's still invasive. If I could go w/out a cesarean the second time around I will. But it's not likely with the size of this little on even though my blood sugars are somewhat controlled w/ the gestational diabetes. He'll be normal ( ... )

That's really awesome! And the great thing is that you just keep going and you keep doing what's needed and your body is responding. It seems like your getting healthier every day. It's taken me over 3 months to lose 15 pounds (a little slow for my taste). I think I just need to excercise more.

Hi Chari! anonymous November 24 2008, 05:30:25 UTC
Congratulations on the weight loss. I have to do the same, no matter what i do differently i stay the same. Im taking thyroid meds, and metformin for insulin issues. Ive traded butter for smart balance, traded mayo for the canola mayo, quit eating sweets altogether, ben steadily easing up on the sugar.
Would you mind emailing me a few tips? I need to do something, because i have a surgery coming up in a few months and my surgeon wanted me to lose weight. ugh!
My email address is alimmax at msn dot com if you can think of anything that might help me out. Thanks ~Ali~
