Theories: The mayor did it. He seems too nice. He brought the bus over for a random baseball stadium trip, so he would know who was going to be on the bus. We saw him arguing with Jackie's dad. Keith mentioned that elections dredge up a lot of ugliness. I'm wondering if there's some ugliness in his past (or Gia's past) that he's trying to cover up. I would bet this ugliness involves racism on his part, which would explain his attempts to be really nice to the poor baseball team.
Big Dick Casablancas is a red herring, as is Logan, who is still really in love with Veronica and will eventually run back to her, promising to change his ways. They will have great sex. Fandom will cheer.
