My mother knit me a scarf that is sixteen feet long.

It took her one year to complete said project.

It is very warm, and of no use to me in southern California.

It waits for me in Chicago!

woah. how many times can
it wrap around your neck?
is it a full-body scarf?
i bet you could wrap it so
you'd look like a muslim
or indian woman! different
wrapping techniques,
but i am sure it could be done!

my scarf will just be a short,
one-time-around-the-neck
california scarf. :D

Heh! It's a Doctor Who scarf, actually. I can wrap it around my neck about three times to ensure it won't trip me up as I meander around a snow-strewn landscape, but it still pretty much covers my body on either side. There have been times when I've stepped out to get the mail or what-have-you with only the scarf and regular summer clothes in the middle of winter and it's done an admirable job of keeping me warm for the short duration.

I have a one-time-around-the-neck scarf that I did bring with me here to sunny southern California, however. Much more practical, I say!
