Yesterday an odd thing happened in class.  Three of my classes are all male save for a solitary girl.  In one of those classes the girl will probably fail because she never shows up.  This happened in that class and the girl was gone. Yes, that can be taken so many ways, especially when a man says it. It is yours.

I hate the word panties and I loathe having to ask for them in stores. I always feel like a pedophile.

Wow, clearly their ignorance has made me the fool. I'll be clearer next time. You really are the 王 of esoteria. I had assumed the mistake was due to Austria/Australia confusion.

It took me a few moments too. I asked them if they meant hindi but when I realized what they were talking about I asked them if they spoke "Asian" in Korea and explained that "Indian" was actually hundreds (if not thousands) of languages.

Oh wow.

Reminds of one time when I was eavesdropping on some students (middle school girls) in class, and nearly died when I realized they were talking about men's underwear. The only boy in the class had his head in his arms on the desk. After making them switch to English, they explained they were only talking about Calvin Klein models...oy.

"Panties" is high on my list of most despised words. I hate hearing it and I only say it if I absolutely must, which is, thankfully, not often. The fact that it is so commonly used here borders on the painful.
