I cannot find the long one of these - on my keyboard. the one for splitting up bits of sentence rather than the one for connecting words. Stupid keyboard ( Read more... )

The thin end of an evil wedge -- admittedly that's a made up version of the saying. :-)

How about the extremely rotten apple with behavioural issues and a nasty glint in its eye spoils the barrel and then kills the barrel with a knife.

Re splitting up bits of a sentence. I think three... dots slows it down, and to indicate an interruption you--

I have a bit of an aversion to ellipses outside of dialogue (and exclamation marks.). It seems wrong when I see it on the page. Conversely, the dash thing looks right. To me.

This may well be oddness on my part.
