civic si is pretty cool, nice high revving 160hp engine, could use a bit more torque across the powerband, but its a fun little car. Only real knock i'd give it is that its wrong wheel drive. Definitely would recommend getting it...how much are they asking?

oh i totally get ya on the not wanting to name a car again...i miss sophia every day.

Well FWD seems pretty standard on cars that aren't built for speed like the RX8, so :-p

Sticker is $14k, i found their internet price of $13k and Anna and I got them down to $12k. And I won't have to pay for tags. :)

I didn't sign anything last night, and we made an appointment for tonight at 7. Ed's going to meet us there. Interested in joining the party? Or we can just hang out after, since, upon second thought, 3 extra people might be a bit much... I have no doubt I'll be bringing the thing around to show off. :)

And I should point out, for a conservative-but-fun-loving driver like myself, this car has plenty of power. No need to get myself in trouble. ;)

i wouldnt mind meeting you afterwards or coming there and seeing if they have an s2k on the lot to test drive i dunno, either way i don't have lab tonight so i can do stuff.

yeah the Si is nice and small so 160 gives it good oomph its by no means slow.

If you do want to meet us there you should pick up Ed on your way, so he can ride with me in my new car. :)

I hear the s2k sounds like a sweet car. They certainly have a number of good cars there, though I didn't exactly get a chance to look through their whole selection. :)

Yea, call me sentimental, but I'd rather she not go for scrap metal. I could probably get a pretty decent tax deduction, just cause it's a friggin car, y'know? Plus she's really in decent condition, driving-wise. I've put a TON of money into her, and with one or two more (expensive) trips to the repair shop she'd be fine to drive. So I'll probably donate her. :)

When I donated my car, I donated it to the American Diabetes Association. All they care about is getting the car. You can drive it to them or they will haul it away. The minimum tax writeoff was $500, but I got more, even though the poor thing was literally undrivable. So, I generally had a good experience with them.

And, congrats!

So what do they do with the car? Scrap it? Rehab it? ??

scrap it or sell it. Rarely do they end up driving it. Basically if you were gonna get $150 from scrapping, now a charity will instead.

Heh, well I think I can deal with that, if it's going to a good cause. There are plenty of good parts (brand new tires and brake pads/rotors in January, for example... 1-year-old struts...). At least they won't really need the stereo!

Awesome! I still need to take not-cell-phone photos of my new car. It should have some oomph since the engine's close to the size of my Altima's and I've hauled ass in that.
