I know I’ve missed a day, but we’ve been so busy just enjoying ourselves that I thought it didn’t really matter if I didn’t get it all wrote down. Most of it was in my head anyways.
On Friday I mentioned a meal and the false contractions. Well the meal like I said was really yummy, it was at a restaurant that actually allowed you to pick and mix your own meals. Like the starter, you could chose from a variety of options and then for the main meal you had a pic ‘n’ mix pizza which I thought was fairly cool. You got the base a set price and then you got to choose whatever topping you wanted at 55p each. Sadly we didn’t go for the pizza but what we did go for was equally amazing. I enjoyed every mouthful (hey can’t you tell) and got so stuffed that I think that was one of the reasons of what happened next.
After we finished the meal we decided to talk a walk by the river which one of the things we hadn’t got around to doing yet. I got out of the restaurant and as I did I got this shooting pain up the left side of by belly, just underneath bump. These proceeded for sometime until which I decided that it didn’t feel right so we ended up calling an ambulance. However, it just seemed that it was perfectly normal ‘practice contractions’ and it was my body’s way of preparing itself for the actual event. So I felt a little silly after that, but I was assured that it was better to be safe than sorry which I did agree with and was one of the reasons why I’d called them out in the first place. So we got back to the room courtesy of the very nice ambulance men and promptly fell into bed and slept right through until morning.
Morning comes and we finish packing up the rest of our things and then grab some breakfast and head over to Penrith. Which is where we were supposed to do a little bit of ‘banking’ for a friend. Unluckily and I must say part of it was to do with bad planning on our part too we couldn’t really do this as the bank was closed as it was a bank holiday. So nothing to be done but drive out to Carlisle or all the way across to Leeds where we were going anyway, but as there was no way of knowing if the bank would even be open in Carlisle either we decided to opt for Leeds which would have taken the same amount of time and it would have been a safer bet that it was open.
Away we went and we actually stopped at Lancaster on the way and managed to get everything done there. Very nice place it is too, lots of markets and more new places to explore. I was in heaven really. :) Especially as I got to see my nanna and mum when we stopped in Leeds, not for too long but I made do and Jay was starting to get a little tired so I suggested that we get back home. Which we did around 6ish after stopping at a completely empty Little Chef for some food. It was amazing how empty it was as I thought with the bank holiday it would have been busier.
Anyway, when we got back we lazed around for a while then I attempted to watch 100 greatest.. on 4, but again felt so tired that I was in bed for 10.
Most of today was spent lazing around. We had planned to go over to one of our friends but instead ended up going to
Hamerton Zoo which I must admit for a zoo was a very cool place. Especially with the two tigers they had. All the animals seemed at peace and comfortable too.
At this moment we’re at one of Jay’s friends and they have a one year old little boy called Ben and he’s so cute and very wriggly and active. So different from a 6 month old baby, especially when you’re trying to change his nappy. He just kept laughing and babbling away that is was very hard not to find him adorable.
So we’re back in Peterborough now, and I’m going to write a little bit more later.
