May 2001 - New papers and media is abuzz with frenzied reports of the appearance of a strange monkey-like creature that was appearing at night and attacking people in the capital city Delhi. Eyewitness accounts were inconsistent but tended to describe the creature as about four feet tall,covered in thick black hair, with a metal helmet, metal claws

This is why I was always told to watch out for monkeys while traveling to temples. The ones I encountered were much much smaller though.

I had to google Kala Bandar immediately and was blown away. I like to think I know a thing or two about cryptozoology, but this is a new thing to me. As Shakespeare wrote, "there are more things in heaven and earth than are dreamt of in your philosophy..."
