If its in an email you should be able to access the 'full headers' part and it gives you the IP address of where it was sent from - chuck it in an IP address checker and you have at least the location of the person.

*hugs* This is horrible, I cant believe people really do stoop this low to try and come between someones relationship, what do they have to gain from making someone unhappy? Sad bastards. Forgive the language!
