so i want to teach drama
more than anyone would realize
and i DO NOT want to teach music
buttt to teach drama i might have to teach music
and i know NOTHING about music!
and i can barely teach it.

im talking to teachers and drama people about my dillema
to see what advice i can get
but im dying here!!

Geez. You haven't posted in a while...gettin' sick of livejournal, eh?

You sorta need to know music to be a drama teacher. If you go to college for it...you'll know how to teach it.

it's not that i dont like it or anything. i just havent had anything postworthy lately
the thing is i dont want to teach music at all. i'm bad at it. like terrible. and i'll need to take piano lessons. if i wanted to teach music, i fell like i should have started a long time ago. and i also feel like i'd have to focus on teaching music first, drama second, and i wont let that happen

thanks. it's kinda what im aiming for. thats why i always try to teach you and deanna what i know about drama and stuff. i want people to hear what i know, what i think.

jessica's right, you need to be able to teach the kids the music in the show and stuff. well, find out what everyone says. i hope it works out for you :(

not neccesarily... thats how it works in this school.
but i can teach the acting and how to act thru the songs.
but the musical director would teach the notes and shit.
other schools do it that way.
idk, its really just a dream. maybe i can get my own community theatre up and going and hold classes and have plays go on there...
that'd be sweet!

i so could see you as the real life ms. darbus...that'd be such a cool job that you would be awesome at doing! i too see your dilemma with not wanting to teach music, but wanting to teach drama. acting and music aren't always linked, but broadway likes to beg to differ. ; P

it's not that they arent linked... i just shouldnt HAVE to teach both. i'm gonna figure out a way to teach drama minus the musical aspect.
