When I got in last night I was tired and decided to get an early night. Foolishly I chose to pick up Dawkin's The God Delusion for a few minutes for a short read. Foolish because I could not put it down until after six o'clock this morning. It was such a compelling read ( Read more... )

I think you know of my drift away from religion. Whilst I appreciate a number of the fine arguments that Dawkins makes, I don't find him a likeable character, and at times he is as inflexible and fundamentalist as those he seeks to undermine.

I wanted to link to a scientific critique of his book in New Scientist some weeks back, but it's only available to subscribers. Nevertheless, I came across this review on a 'woolly round the edge' Christian site, from a chap who has a better sense of humour and a broader take on faith than most - and I thought he raised some very reasonable points...

not that I'll be hurrying back to church :)
