Confession is good for the soul.

I was going to post the link to this interview and ask if anyone could tell if they thought Haggard was lying or not.

It would seem that events have beaten me to it as the guy has confessed to what he mistakenly believes to be "sexual immorality".

"There is a part of my life that is so repulsive and dark and I've been warring against it my entire adult life."

He's right, you know. Though I suspect my interpretation isn't exactly what he means :-)

I had to think twice about that for a moment but you are right of course.

I wonder if he will be able to escape the clutches of his vile religion and realise that his sexuality is not the repulsive and dark thing that he currently believes it to be. I suspect not, I think we can see Haggard rehabilitate himself as the doyen of some ex-gay ministry in a couple of years.

I've just found an interesting article about the failure of the ex-gay movement.

what he mistakenly believes to be "sexual immorality".

I'm not sure he's mistaken - as I said before, if the 'massages' were of a sexual nature then they were immoral by way of adultery, regardless of orientation.

I see he's making full use of the Clinton Defence though... 8-)

Agreed - and of course the real 'victims' (I hate that word) are his wife and more especially his kids. What he's done to them is most definitely immoral.

You are right there. I had overlooked the adultery aspect.

Bonus points - both "I didn't inhale" *and* "I did not have intercourse with that [man]".

I wonder if he called for Clinton's impeachment?
