Seriously? Scary, my ass. It was a goddamn lame youtube video with a big fat pop-up scare at the end. Maybe folks who dig the equally bogus Ghost Hunters-style shows might find some spook in this. I just feel ripped-off of the buck and hour-and-a-half I spent in this movie's company.
Movie summary: Asshole boyfriend films his haunted screamy girlfriend in the most obnoxious way possible trying to, I dunno, get on TV or something. Demon, NOT GHOST, DEMON proceeds to wiggle doors and turn lights on and off and hide photos in the attic. Demon possesses screamy girlfriend and kills asshole boyfriend. Actually, that wasn't just a summary, that was the WHOLE GODDAMN MOVIE: unlikeable characters and terrible tension-building gimmicks. I should've known better; I can count the good horror movies I've seen on one hand.
From the buzz, people seem to think that this will OH NO make your bland suburban house all sorts of scary. Like Psycho made shower curtains ominous, or Jaws made you afraid to go into the water. Well, guess what. It's certainly not Hitchcock-in-his-prime. It's not even young Spielberg. It's a lame youtube video.
OH, but it's INDEPENDENT. Bite me, it still sucks. I'm gonna go watch The Haunting (1963)
Also, the this-is-mah-video-camera style is played out. Stop that.
