Yea I'm sure everyone heard about the drug busts at the local highschools. I just have a hard time figuring it out. These police enrolled into the schools in August, only regular classes, esol etc, might I add. No honors classes, or private/religios schools

yes, I did, and I was only in it for FOUR YEARS.... and um,hot icon.
Anyways, what does that have to do with the price of beans in China.
Do you think these kids will be going back to highschool to get their Diploma? NO. They're kicked out, for good. So now what chances do they have to live and recover, and lead a normal life? It's time to break this vicious cycle! How about have these kids that extra classes about drug use and drug trafficing. All these detectives are doing is runining these kids lives. And it doesn't help that the media is splattering their mugshots on the front page of newspapers... If you think these police are being heroic men and women, think again.

I never said or implied that the detectives were being heroic, they were just doing their job in my opinion. No the kids won't be going back into highschool to get a diploma, but they still have the option of getting their GED. They gave up the privledge of finishing high school when they chose to sell drugs on school property. These kids don't deserve to be in school, do you believe someone that is selling drugs in school deserves to be there? The fact that this story became big is good, hopefully this story will show the kids that didn't get caught that they aren't invincible, and that they're screwing with their future. These kids that are selling the drugs have other options for money, there maybe some, but i assume that most of them don't have a family to support and bills to pay. Most of the kids were juveniles, so their will get a more lenient sentence, unless they're being charged as adults.

The fact that the story became big.... Maybe it will teach kids a lesson... Hrmm No, they've been doing this type of drug bust since the early 80's. Didn't help at John. I in , 1986, 1990, and didn't help two years later, and to this day, does nothing to help.
So my point- What's at the root of the problem? WHY are they selling drugs? What is their homelife like? I'm sorry Shawn but you didn't grow up in a household with 10 other people, drugs in and out of the house, gangs, violence, sex and total poverty.

Hell yes they deserve to be in school. Are they breaking the law? YES. But why? To be bad-asses? I think not. It's hard ENOUGH for these kids to finish school and get their diploma. Why make it harder by getting them to sell some fake ass police oficer, drugs? Why kick them out of school, to roam the streets- and make the same MISTAKES for the rest of their life? And if you didn't know, yes they were bribed to get the drugs by the police, that's something YOU won't hear about, cause they don't want you to know.

How do you know that this didn't deter other kids from selling drugs? I'm not saying that this type of operation will rid the schools of drugs, but it's not a bad idea, in my opinion

i work at WPBF news. I was right next to the police radio when they were making the bust. The way they were talking to eachother was horrible. As if it were a game. We coudln't tell just what exactly what it was, either gang problem or drug problem. Late that night the Associated Press faxed over all the details, along with many other detailed stories from other wires.

umm it's illegal foward e-mail from inside newswires at a station.. The police offered to pay extra money for the drugs.
