Miscellaneous observations in Vancouver

Nov 02, 2009 13:12

  • Restrooms are called washrooms
  • Restaurants are conservative in the paper napkins used and all napkins I saw were from recycled paper
  • Pubs are often referred to as public houses
  • Kept seeing Canuck in various contexts and discovered later that it is a word for Canadian.  The Canadian National Hockey team is also called Canadian Canucks.

No Wal-Mart in Vancouver. Bcus there is more Chinese stores already.
Entire downtown looks like china town.
Most of the white ppl you find there are visitors from Seattle.

Coming from Canada to USA, I was wondering if Americans really go there to take rest?
