I am not sure why people buy into status symbols like having fancy cars and homes. If people just lived within their means, perhaps the country wouldn't be in such terrible finanical trouble. Life Update
I saw "Burn After Reading" last night. It wasn't as good as "No Country for Old Men," but still quality. Brad Pitt's character was super annoying. I had never really thought George Clooney was that hot, but I kind of changed my mind about him after this movie. He's hot in an old man sort of way. Work has been going well. I love teaching fourth grade. Sometimes I just can't believe that the students are actually listening and doing what I asked them to do the first time they were asked. Disney
Got back from Disney World on Friday evening. We had a good time. We did 6 parks (Epcot, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, Islands of Adventure, Universal) in 4 days, which I think is very awesome. My mom is cleaning up at her house to make room for my grandmother to move in when my grandfather passes away or gets put full-time into a nursing home. This tragic course of events has forced me to bring home my middle school/high school CD collection which had been living at her house. Achieving Your Childhood Dreams
Randy Pausch gave an amazing final lecture before leaving his job as a professor due to cancer. He passed away yesterday. This video is all over the Internet right now, but I sat down and finally watched it from start to end. I cried (maybe I'm just emo right now) and I learned something about being a good teacher and a good human being.
