13 books
3581 pages

A lot of solid reads last month, all in all. Reading thirteen books seems impressive until I note that most of them were less than 250 pages apiece.

1. The Color of Magic by Terry Pratchett.
2. Brown Girl in the Ring by Nalo Hopkinson.
3. Wild Seed by Octavia E. Butler.
4. White Is for Witching by Helen Oyeyemi.
5. The Good Read more... )

I just started to read one of Nalo's works. I'm reading The Chaos and I really like it.

AND I LOVE JANE EYRE! It doesn't seem like it would be your thing though haha. But it is a really great book. It really made an impact on me.

I loved the first two-thirds of Eyre. I would have loved it more if I had read it at a younger age -- I totally identified with the young Jane -- but over the years I've lost my patience for the way Victorian fiction takes its own sweet time to get to where it's going.

I'm working through Hopkinson's works more or less in order of publication, though I would prefer novels over short story collections.
