I am so excited for you!! I totally understand what it's like to tell people you're still a student and will be for ages to come, and them not understand. But at this level I think you get to be called an academic.

and yes, JSAMN is an awesome book. I love fiction with footnotes (even fictional footnotes, like LOTR). It just shows how much thought the author has put into creating the world s/he is writing about. I love how Mr. Norrell buys up all the books and hoards knowledge in his dusty old library.

OOOH! You've read it?? I actually have never encountered another person who has liked it - just read rave reviews from tons of people :P I could honestly sit down and have a whole afternoon of conversation about the book!
