“Is it a boy or a girl?” our Bai asked last week.

“Boy, of course, can’t you see.” my mom said a bit amused.

“Then why have they named him ‘Rakhi’?” she asked. "These young boys -- they all like Rakhi Sawant and her assets!' she added venomously.

When mom managed to finally control her laughter, she told her “The dog's name is Rocky, not Rakhi.”

You know, I can see Ricky being named Ricky, Kalu being Kalu, Blackie Blackie and so forth. How-the-ever, as a lowly dreg of the publishing world, what I would really like to know is why Jojo got so called ;)

The reason... deepasurya February 9 2009, 16:13:21 UTC
As a fellow lowly dreg of the publishing world, I know what that ;-) signifies...
But while the other uninspired names were given by me, this Jojo was an abandoned dog. When I met him someone had already named him Jojo and he responded to the name.
I have quite a story to narrate about this Jojo. He was a big furry brown-n-white dog - like a St Bernard. And since he was the one who had adopted me, he was ferociously protective of me. Once a group of roadside romeos, whose idea of having a good time was eve-teasing, sang a song when I happened to pass by, and Jojo scared them out of their wits. I swear they would have had to be rushed to the hospital, had I not restrained Jojo. And he was a stray dog and didn’t even have a collar!
Just another reason for why I adore stray dogs.

I like Rakhi sawant because he bit your uncle for no reason at all. So train him to bit people, you don't want to visit your home.
