[Ardent is sat, in one of those hoodies he picked up in Salem. This one's just red. He's eating currywurst. Because this is Ardent's kind of thing. There's also chips involved

It is curious that the languages evolved convergently. [He's wearing warm clothes, just to give the appearance of wearing warm clothes.] I am searching for places to take Victor. I will keep in mind that the food is good there.
[Narvin doesn't like that slight implication of blackmail, and, paranoid as he is, he immediately wonders how much Ardent might already know. But this is the sort of transaction he understands and it's comforting in its familiarity.]
Ask away, I have nothing to hide. [If asked, he will lie lie lie. But he has to pretend that he doesn't feel threatened by Ardent. And since he'd rather *not* be asked...]
But you do bring up a good point. You'll need money. If memory serves, at this point in human history they use a combination of coins, paper, and electronic currency. I've been told that paper is the most practical and widely accepted.
Would one thousand suffice?
[Narvin has only a very vague sense of currency value during this time period.]And yes, humans are the only sentient life dwelling openly on the planet at this time. There may be a few other species of aliens hiding here and there and a renegade Time Lord or two occasionally dropping by, but it's best to assume that everyone you speak with is, unfortunately,

I never said you did have anything to hide. I just thought you might want not to have me trailing around after you, wanting to know what you were up to. [He wasn't suspicious, Narvin. Much.]
I do prefer my currency to have a little weight, but paper it is. Everywhere, it seems. I'll take the thousand, that should be enough.
[Ardent has a vague ideas of a dollar's value. Boy, 1000 euros is gonna surprise him a little.]
I never realised everyone on the Roundworld was human. I just presumed they didn't have Dwarfs.
Yes. I am a Dwarf. The vampires and werewolves tended to live on the surface in Uberwald, but I can't see any of them here. ...Except the ones we brought.
I have not sensed any other Lycanthropes here either, I believe I am the only one. I take it Dwarves [said with a Capital inclination. The race sounds important to Ardent and Lucian respects this] live underneath your world, then?
And perhaps holiday is the wrong word for what I'm thinking of. Celebration perhaps. I was curious mostly because the feast that occurs during this time of the year in my world is a dwarven tradition that's spread out to the other races.
Unfortunately, I think that might just be the Dwarfs on your world, as we've had no such celebration in our cultural history. I'd be interested to know more about it, though.
I imagine there's always going to be differences between different planet's Dwarfs.

It is very good. [Dwarfs, do, however, have a taste for fast food of varying quality.]

You come from a world with werewolves, vampires and dwarves?

They do, and...
[He just realised you said 'any other', and will return the polite favour and use your word AND the capital letter.] So you're a Lycanthrope, then?

We do commemorate major battles in our history, but it tends to be a bad idea to fight in December or Ick.

It's not like a celebration breaks the Laws.
