Right now (and for the last month or so) I've been reading nothing but required stuff for my doctoral comprehensive exams, but back when I could still read for fun, I really enjoyed the hell out of Cherie Priest's wonderfully Lovecraftian Borden Dispatches series. And Crown for Cold Silver did some really interesting world building with cool race and gender stuff. And when I can read for fun again soon, I'm looking forward to Bujold's upcoming Gentleman Jole and the Red Queen.
