Yeah, well- we've kind of been married for years, but it wasn't legally binding. Because of, ya know- *gay*. We celebrated our 14th anniversary Friday, but couldn't get it in writing until this year when DC made it legal and our state decided that it would recognize all out-of-state unions.

To have this straight-- you can't get married in MD until/ unless Nick's birth certificate gets changed but if you marry in DC, MD says 'OK yer married'? I... suppose MD can follow its own logic there.
