I couldn't believe it when they almost let them scurry out of it like that. I was convinced that England would lose when it came down to what was obviously going to be the final over. It was FANTASTIC when Jones took that catch though. ;-)

We're still going to lose, though.

I didn't switch on radio until about 11.30 or something (hoping they would have won by then) and was horrified and convinced they would lose and that the manner of their losing would be such that they would not have a hope of recovering from it... and then just as it all looked to be drifting apart, the miraculous (and slightly dubious I gather) escape. Mind you, Kasprovic was plum lbw to Flintoff when there were 50 runs to go...

The cricket was an amzaing result - although as usual the plaudits are too much and the crash when we lose will be that much greater (pessimist, me?)

I was shocked to hear of RC's death too, bun and I walked into Safeway and saw it on the papers, did a double take and went back to have a read :(

Yes, I am becoming particularly annoyed with all the comparisons with great teams/players of old... it was a fantastic result - beating Australia in only one match is in itself a major achievement... but it's always the same with the media isn't it - after we lost the last match all the editorials were tearing the team apart - now they win by 2 runs and are being hailed as greats...
