He had forgotten a lot of other things. Sometimes, he tried to think in his mother tongue, only to find that he was no longer able to recall the word for this, or the word for that, and none now lived who remembered the words, other than him. There were no books to look them up in, and if he forgot them, they would be lost forever. It saddened ( Read more... )

Aww!

I have to wonder that if in time would his new brother in arms would be forgotten too or will become as memorable as the King of the past.

Well done. :D

Glad you liked it! It's a little (?) bit on the weird side.

I guess, given the fact that "the boy" reminds him of both his sister and the King, it's safe to say that he won't be forgotten very easily.

Thing 1: The song he's 'remembering' is actually a hobbiton song; it originated in the pubs of the shire.

Thing 2: I can't tell why he's the only one living from that time. there's no sense made of that

Thing 3: I can't really draw a connecting line with this story between the two 'verses.

Thing 4: It was actually a pretty OK amount of angst. Not really what I expected, but there you have it.

Thing 1: The song he is remembering is an old Rohan song about Eorl. Aragorn sings it in the book (although a longer version of it). They gave it to Théoden in the movie.

Thing 2 and 3: There is no sense to be made of why he is the only one left alive, or what the actual connection is between the two 'verses. That's why I warned 'to suspend all disbelief". I should have probably been clearer. It's just a little bit of crazy that probably originated out of reading too much Reaper!Bones fic, and wondering about what would Bones feel if he actually was Éomer. Pretty crazy, I know.

Thanks for reading and commenting anyhow!
