When a Dremel tool is used on CD jewel case plastic, it doesn't grind or cut. It melts.

Yes, even on the lowest setting.

You can get around this with mineral water, but for the most part, I just get cheap tupperware and cut to spec.

My local thrift shops would probably be great for that...strong but flexible plastics are great for costuming/craft.

In this case I was caught for time and needed an easily workable material that's both rigid and waterproof. Rasps and sandpaper nicely cleaned up the "instant sprue".
