Though this article (http://www.sciencebase.com/science-blog/melamine-in-milk.html) says it may not be the Melamine, itself, but the individual components of the melamine that are dangerous.

I would point out that quibbling over Why Melamine is dangerous is a forest for the trees sort of thing. But knowing more is always a good thing. Looks like I'll be loading up on Russel Stoffers candy. As nasty as some of it is, a lot of it's made in Iola KS and Nixa Mo.
