He said this following it: "That would be an impossibly ridiculous and morally reprehensible thing to do."

It's been taken out of context.

I still think at the state of where people are at right ow, he should have used a better example. I am tired of politicians using blacks as exapmles to explain stuff....why can't they make general statements without using a specific group of people.....especially when it is a sensitive topic. I only think he said what he said after to try and dig himself out of a hole he new he dug for himself.

Meh. He woulda gotten the same backlash for any minority race he used. I'm sure black people were the first thing that came to his mind. Hispanics would have jumped all over him too.

But I admit, I'd like to see him use white people as an example and see what happens.

What a train wreck. I did want to stop reading because he seems so self righteous but i had to keep going because i can't believe this guy thinks he can get off just because he says the idea of aborting an entire race is morally reprehensible. Nooooooo!!! Really???? So why say it in the first place?!

"I was putting forward a hypothetical proposition. Put that forward. Examined it. And then said about it that it's morally reprehensible. To recommend abortion of an entire group of people in order to lower your crime rate is morally reprehensible. But this is what happens when you argue that the ends can justify the means," he told CNN.

I think he could have come up with a better example than this. Surely, he knew that saying such a thing would rile people up.

It'd be like me telling my friends that they could keep the crime rates in in their city down by aborting thir baby, and then telling them afterward I think it's a bad idea.

I think his comments were irresponsible. He needs to be a lot more careful.
