Because, if we don't go over there and shut down the terrorists, they will come over here and kill thousands of our people in acts which are even more senseless than this. The 9/11 attacks were about as senseless as they get.

Just recently, another plot was foiled. A big one. This war seems senseless but it's not. Ask my buddy Lee and his cronies over there. They will tell you this war is not senseless. We are squashing the terrorist networks.

It cannot be done without a price. Anything worth having has it's cost, especially freedom. Folks going over there know the risk, they know the price, but they go willingly because they feel it's right.

Nonsense. Your friend Lee didn't go because he wanted to do what was right, he went because just like all the other guys that have been shipped there, they had no choice. Going to Iraq to destroy Al-Qaeda is like going to Baskin Robbins for underwear, it makes no sense, and it's ineffective. Being in Iraq is NOT stopping terrorists, it's pissing them off. We supposedly went to Iraq to find WMD, then all of sudden it was about giving the Iraqis freedom, and now that everyone is pissed off, it's about stopping terrorists. We went there to get even with Saddam, plain and simple. We are no safer now than we were 5 years ago. Why? Because Bin Laden is still free, he's no where near Iraq and all of our armed forces are in Iraq getting even for dubya. You are being lied to, and you are just following along with the herd, believeing whatever you are told. The reason for the war in Iraq has changed no less than 3 times, and yet you still believe that it's to stop terrorism? It's crap, and it's killed thousands of our soldiers FOR NO REASON. ( ... )

I personally believe it goes much further than Bin Laden. As long as we keep believing the lie, the nation is going to get steam rolled.

Well, that's the good thing about freedom...you get to believe what you want.

My buddy Lee did get sent despite his retirement. However, I've talked with him about this very thing. He believes very firmly that being over there is the right thing to do. His cronies also believe the same. It was important. Ask any of them. There are very few soldiers fighting overseas who do not feel that way.

As for the terror cell in London...those terrorists are the same crackjobs being funded by countries like Iraq, Afghanistan, and the like. They're attacking different countries, but they all have the same jihadist mentality. And Hussein was discovered to be funding these efforts with materials and money.

I am not getting you started. I feel it is important to get other people's views on things, and I know not everyone is always going to agree with me. You know how I stand on this issue.......it's hard to remain impartial. Without sounding extremely insulting, I feel everyone that supports this war has blood on their hands. I feel if it were MY husband out there fighting a senseless war and left me a widow, I'd probably be more likely to see the big picture and become b=very bitter as to what is going on over there. Call me crazy, but I don't need to lose a loved one to see or feel that....I see the pain and the loss of those families on the tv.....the many fatherless and motherless children, from all the countries invloved in this , and that is ENOUGH, regardless of any political position, to make me pray that this all stops. The killing before we get killed attitude does not apply to anything we were taught biblically and I'd like somone to find me a passage to back that up...because there are enoguh passages to dispell any ( ... )

"Without sounding extremely insulting, I feel everyone that supports this war has blood on their hands."

That is a bit insulting, Dee. I support this war. I think it was extremely necessary. Up until 9/11, we were too complacent. We were easy targets. When the unthinkable happened, we had to fight back. To do less than that would've been irresponsible.

I couldn't agree with you more. Its all just SO very sad how blindly some people are being lead through this only to experience much worse heartache than they ever signed up for.
My whole argument from the start has been this EXACT one. What is so Christian about going over and killing people? NOTHING. It DOES NOT glorify God and I feel that they have died in vain, and I resent that. I have never supported the war, because I do not support violence, especially needless violence that never gets anything accomplished but more people dying.
Like I said...don't get me started lol
