I need your help!!!

Alright guys, I need EVERYONE's help. On NOv. 28th, I'm auditioning for the national tour of Rent. I probably won't get it but I gotta try. The problem is, I can't think of a song to sing!! It has to be 16 bars of a contemperary rock, pop or gospel song. No keep in mind the only main cast part I would fit would be Maureen so I'm kinda trying

I'm thinking something along the lines of alanis morrisette or melissa etherige type music....although, I cant really say why.
But, maybe you'll find something of theirs you like and it'll work.
