Inspired by incontango and perich, both of whom have received quite a number of interesting posts on a variety of subjects... I decided I'm going to stea-- er, adapt their scenario for myself. Especially since I have a number of readers who are different than who the other two have, and thus will get some different questions and responses ( Read more... )

By saying something horrible that I might not really mean, but which will bother you because you wouldn't think someone would actually be classless enough to verbalize it. :-)

I think the average American is ashamed about their sex lives. They are afraid of looking perverted by admitting things they've done/thought of in the past, despite the fact that probably most people have had similar thoughts/actions in the past.

And because we're so uptight about sex, it's one of the few topics we use consistantly to bust each other's balls with after rather uncomfortable revelations are made public. Thus compounding the shame and the need to keep quiet about how freaky we truly are.

The average American SHOULD be ashamed of how little responsibility they take for their own actions and blame other people for their problems or for what they believe to be society's woes instead.

Under what specific and concrete circumstances would you either participate in or materially support violent revolution against the government of the United States?

I wouldn't. Because it's not going to happen. Our country is too apathetic to actually rise up against our government (myself included). We will continue to slide this slippery slope towards more and more government intervention in our lives for the simple reason that 99% of us really don't care about any of this shit to try and fight against it.

We will always of course be happy to whine about stuff that makes us look like we actually care (Don Imus' 'Nappy-headed hos' comment... Michael Vick and dogfighting), but in actuality is really inconsequential to our daily lives. We make ourselves feel good by "taking a moral stand"... but in all honesty means absolutely nothing in the long run.
