So yesterday was my first day back at nyrf since the year before last. I brought a bunch of friends with me, and all had a decent time. some things have apparently changed since last time I was there. The tomatoe throwing booth was fun, and insulting like it's supposed to be. Were there always 2 test of strength booths? And the "wrong show". Here's ( Read more... )

I'm not going to defend The Wrong Show specifically, because I've never actually sat down and watched it. However, there usually is something not-for-kids at the faire. Ded Bob is the example that comes to mind. He was HILLARIOUS, but he'd tell people to take their kids out of the audience before the show, because it wasn't appropriate. I'm pretty sure Lionel does the same.

Ded Bob suggested the easily offend should go at the beginning of the show, but it was rated "PG-13" per the sign outside the stage and most of it did "shoot over the heads of the kids" like Mike said. Suggestive lines and double-entendre is much different than what's going on at the wrong show.

"If your kids get the jokes...it's your fault" - Ded Bob.

I only saw Ded Bob the once, and I think I recall telling people with kids that it might be a good idea to leave. I miss Ded Bob...

Lionel outright tells the audience that if they don't want to explain sexual terms to their kids on the ride home, they need to leave.

Lionel does tell people that. I don't like the wrong show either. The crowds they attract are loud, drunk, rude and usually too broke or crude to want to buy roses :P

You guys are right, Lionel did give a very extensive disclaimer before the start of the show. Also, the show was set out of the way of the other things going on. that much was good. And I didn't stay for the whole show because I got sickened pretty quick. During the time I was there however, I got the priveledge of watching 3 women titty-fuck themselves with a chocolate covered banana, then have the chocolate licked off thier chests. Fun? yes, but for everything there is a time and place. That kind of thing ought be reserved for downloading on the internet late at night.
