I'm not normally very fond of surprises, because they require those closest to me to either lie or conceal things, or they occur randomly, as through coincidence, but more likely through some kind of accident. I have an alarming tendency to see through the former in a hurry. It's not fun for all parties. The latter requires no further explanation.
