Alot of familiar sights there... noteably the Rockies coming up on the horizon.

As we were nearing the end of our trip on rt 70, a fedex truck lost it's brakes and exploded on a barrier wall. we sat in traffic for about an hour and a half.

Totally experienced something similiar, everyone just got out of their cars and shot the shit. Tho our blockage was a nuclear test just outside of White Sands, NM.

Cannot. Wait. For. Next. Road. Trip.

And glad you're not traveling in summer.
Those plains...ugh! Idaho has lots of 'em but some pretty vistas here and there. I trip out on the highways surrounded on either side by water, no bridge; just a raised hwy.

I hope you're doing well and having fun! C U soon?

it wouldn't have been as stressful if we hadn't had so much weight. had to be careful not to overheat on the way up (or fry the transmission fluid) and the brakes overheated quickly on the way down literally making the brake fluid boil. we actually had to use the lower gears in the truck the whole way up and down. did you have any problems like that? I know you had a lighter load, but not sure what size pickup you were towing with.
