This is one characteristic I truly cannot stand in people. It tells me that people who are audacious are the kind of people who do not like to take responsibility or accountability for their actions so they blame the victim. I agree. Personal accountability is a huge issue with me. Not enough people take responsibility for their actions. American society pretty much teaches people to make excuses for themselves. Then again, I think some people have to do this (or else turn the blame around onto another person) as a defense mechanism, because if they had to face what they did and the fact that they *chose* to do it, in some cases they wouldn't be able to live with themselves. The audacity just helps them convince themselves they weren't in the wrong. As they say, ignorance is bliss.
