Yea, I had to adjust to that whole braking thing when I got my car.

The remedy? Just shift the seat back.

Dag man, you're just Mr. moneybags and all. I personally hate Mac with a passion particularly because steve jobs is an asshole, but if you're not gonna be doing all that much aside from basic stuff, go for the mac. Make sure you get apple care. Their customer service is absurdly awesome too. But on the off chance you want to come back to the windows side, lemme know. I get 15% off of Lenovo thinkpads =P

i just started to adjust, no more sudden stops when trying to slow down.
i figure i'll try mac out, it cant be a bad choice considering the awesome customer service (as you mentioned).
that discount will definitely come in handy though

macs aren't so bad. they're definitely cool and can handle your basic computing needs, but in terms of value... there are many alternatives. with an ibm employee discount i got my thinkpad for $775 shipped (2.41 ghz core duo, 2gig ram, 100gig 7200 rpm hd, 15" 1680x1050, reformatted upon arrival for XP vs the mid macbook $1299 2.4ghz, 2gig, 13" 1280x800 160gig 5400rpm)

So yeah I was also considering a macbook at the time too, but I'd say that I got the better specs at a better price.

But no glowing apple :(

but yeah i prob have the jack from my stolen civic left in my garage somewhere.

List all the things you don't like about vista.

use of too much RAM
long start up time
doesnt seem very user-friendly...at least on the comps that i used it on, it wasnt very helpful.
...theres some more, i just cant think of them right now.

but the system just seems way too fancy with things that i'll never really use...that will also apply to macs, but i feel i'll use more of those applications on the laptops than i would on a Vista laptop

If you're buying a new computer, you'll never compare boot times because you'll only be running one OS on the computer. Like dingboon said it's not too much of a memory hog and it's been very stable for me alot more than the original XP was when it first came out.

MAC, HANDS DOWN MAN.

It just works and you never have to worry about it, and when something breaks, take it to the genius bar.

The only reason you would get a PC laptop is for applications. But there are so many great applications on MAC now... especially when its just for a laptop.
