“It is a curious thing, the death of a loved one. We all know that our time in this world is limited, and that eventually all of us will end up underneath some sheet, never to wake up. Oh, Nikka. My condolences.
I know of a similar loss, but I wasn't as close to my old man's father (and I got to take care of him before he passed on without the need to travel so far away), so I can only imagine how much this hurts for you. :((

This too, shall pass.
And we'll be right here, in your every step. When you need me. *hugs you tightly*

we're apparently not supposed to say 'thanks' when someone offers their condolences [i have only heard of this less than 48 hours ago; my thesis partner's grandfather passed on and i told her condolences and--yeah] but you know my sentiments. /hugs back

it just sucks because we've been trying to get me a visa for maybe five years now so i can go see her while she was still alive. she's been really sick for a long time but miraculously her mind's still sharp and at every single family gathering she was always asking my parents if i could make it in time. at this moment i just feel like it's pointless. but of course it's important to go see her for the last time.

The thanks can follow after everything's been said and done, and now isn't the moment yet. Take care of yourself first, give yourself time. ♥
