I love Craigslist. I've known about it for quite some time, but never really used it except to browse. Well, I recently bought enough pressure treated lumber and composite decking to build a 10x16 deck off the back of the house. The PT lumber alone would have cost me what the whole lot would have cost me normally. Super happy

I just discovered Freecycle. They do local area exchange of stuff. It is like craigs list except they only allow free trades. It is for exactly the sort of stuff you were talking about things you were just gonna throw away anyway. Not as good as selling things for cast, but it is pretty neat and sometimes you can get things for free.
