How come I can talk to a guy and when I see him a few weeks later he remembers fuck all about me or this place?

Just an elaborate guess here, but that doesn't sound like part of your standard event package to me.

There's interested and then there's wanting to know how you can avoid getting your memory shot full of holes.

It's in my notes if you want to see them. Basically, if there is an event from your world, you loose a word from your memory. Sometimes people leave and come back remembering this place. If they go back in time however, they forget everything.

If someone leaves completely, like there room is empty gone, they will come back with no memories.
