The reader in me is very sad.

May 19, 2010 22:34

I haven't read any new books in two months.

TWO FRAKKING MONTHS.

That is it. This Friday, I am dropping by the bookstore and picking up a buttload of books. I want to read so badly and the only new book in our house is a copy of Breaking Dawn. Breaking freakin' Dawn.

FML. Just...FML.

Can anyone suggest some titles? -wibble- My inner reader is dying ( Read more... )

lol my life

American Gods by Neil Gaiman Noticed he was on your interests list but dunno if you've ever read this one. I just got through with it myself and enjoyed it a lot considering I was a little skeptical after Stardust.

A couple of my big favorite authors are Tamora Pierce and Mercedes Lackey. Tamora does YA fantasy/adventure but in my opinion it's good for all ages. Mercedes Lackey does fantasy/adventure/romance. She's the writer of the Valdemar books and also has a series called the Thousand Kingdoms being released through Harlequin Luna. Neither of them may quite be your cup of tea but I figured I'd throw 'em out there for your perusal since you're in dire need of reading material.

Yep, I've read American Gods. ^^

I've never tried getting into Tamora Pierce because I have a hard time keeping track of her books, lol. xD But loads of people have already recommended her, so maybe I'll give her stuff a try. :)

And I love fantasy/adventure type things! ^^

Thanks for the suggestions!

Start with the Alanna series. They're first. :) Then the Immortals. Because you won't be able to stop. ;)

Uhm, if you're into vampires and don't mind a bit of smut, the Black Dagger Brotherhood by JR Ward are amazing. I'm addicted.

The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan is great if you've got a lot of time on your hands... they're fantasy/romance, and super long. There's 12 books in the series, but its so worth it.

Anything by David Eddings is AMAZING, too. He's got three series, I think, but start with the Begariad. You wont' regret it. It's got something for everyone, but is mostly fantasy/adventure/quest-like things. Hope something strikes your fancy!

You're welcome!

Tamora's got two main !verses, there's Song of the Lioness quartet and it's follow ups and then there's Circle of Magic. I recommend starting with Song of the Lioness series which begins with Alanna. When in doubt look here for guidance on what order the books go in: http://www.tamora-pierce.com/books.html

Have fun reading! :D

I'd recommend anything by Juliet Marillier (she's a goddess) and idk if this is your cup of tea but I really liked Stephen Lawhead's Pendragon Cycle (I'm currently rerererereading :P)

aaaaand there's always the new chapter of Cursed ;)

If you fancy the horror genre, try anything by Stephen King or Poppy Z. Brite. They're brilliant! C;

You're very welcome! C:

Ahaha, now you've reached the point of no return! ;P How did I do that? YES, YES HE IS. Is Italy your favorite? A lot of characters will gradually be introduced as you progress through the series so watch out! They're all cute in their own quirky way!

And the fandom's simply wonderful! C;

ETA: Please pardon the misfire. OTL

I like Italy, but I haven't seen much of the series to really pick a favorite character. :P I've only seen the first few episodes though. *goes to watch more*
