[The video feed flickers on, there's some random burn marks on the sand as the image focuses and reveals a helplessly flopping red fish on the ground.]
What the hell is this?
[There's a little beep as the mechanical voice of the Poke'dex function chimes in.]
Magikarp. The fish poke'mon. Magikarp is said to be the world's weakest Poke'mon. No one knows how it has been able to survive. Its hard scales make it completely inedible.
[He sighs a little.]
Well, there goes even thinkin' about eating it.
[The image shakes as he gets up, an off-shift in the way he's holding the Poke'Gear showing the fire mouse as it skitters down its trainer's imposing frame, snatching a Poke'ball from his belt before darting over to the downed fish. For once, Kamina seems a little panicked.]
OI! I TOLD YA I DON'T WANT THAT ONE!
[His loud bellow seems to carry throughout the forest, but the little "Gurren" doesn't seem to care as it gleefully smacks the fish with the ball. For a moment, he's utterly speechless and while its doubtful anyone sees it, his face is momentarily frozen in a "I can't believe you just did that" look. Frustrated now, he crouches again and snatches up the ball.]
I told ya, I'll do the catching, ya got it!?
[Curiously, the poke'mon seems completely unrepentant as it crosses its little arms and perches up on its back legs. In fact, the look it's giving its master would suggest that it might know something he didn't that his Poke'Gear isn't mentioning to him -mostly because he didn't ask.]
Yer givin' me that weird look.

Tch, fine. I'm gonna pop it out. If it jumps back in the water, that's it, got it?!
[He's starting to get the hang of camera positioning during all this as he tosses the ball out near the shore. Much to the trainer's chagrin, the fish opts rather to just happily flop and flail where it is, rather than fleeing back into the sea. After a moment, it's recalled to its Poke'ball.]
Geeze, ya better evolve into something cool or I'm gonna be pissed.
[Off camera, the Cyndaquil is squeak-laughing its little ass off. The feed cuts out.]
