Do you remember who the author is?

There are so many books out there, you can't research every author.

Though granted if you are Oprah, you have massive staff, and should be able to research your recommendations.

That's exactly my point.

When you are in a position of power (and I think we can agree that Oprah's Book-of-the-Whatever Club is powerful), you have a set of responsibilities to your readers.

I can see her next TV episode now:

Oprah: "Our next reading selection is an uplifting tale of what a glorious future could be like. It's author wrote the book while he was imprisoned unjustly. The book is - (cue loud Oprah screaming) MEIN KAAAAAAAAAMPF!!!!!"
