[Character name] Yuffie Kisaragi
[Age] 19
[Canon] Final Fantasy VII Compilation
[Point in time taken from canon] At the end of Dirge or Cerberus when they're looking for Vincent who is off being a broody thing.

[Background] Story of Final Fantasy VII, Story of Dirge of Cerberus since Yuffie's page at the FF wiki just briefly outlines her involvement, not the entirety of the plot/what was going on in the world at the time.

[Personality] Yuffie's a really interesting character in terms of personality. At first glance, she's a selfish, annoying, kleptomaniacal brat. That's just scratching the surface, though. Once you look deeper you see she's an incredibly determined individual, strong and passionate, even if she is incredibly socially awkward and thus has no idea how to really act around people half the time.

Her mother died of illness when she was young and her relationship with her father isn't the greatest, so she didn't really have much parental guidance growing up, which really helped shape her personality. Not to mention the fact that she pretty much raised herself since she was twelve or so. By living in a forest. If that doesn't make one socially awkward, I don't know what will. But Yuffie's a special kind of socially awkward. Her overall personality is extroverted enough that she could never be the shy, stuttering, typical sort of awkward. No, she's in your face, tactless and doesn't know when to stop talking because, well, she may know some social graces (she is technically a princess, after all) but she obviously doesn't have any practice with 'em. When things start getting serious and personal in a conversation, she backpedals, uncomfortable with it and she doesn't really know how to deal with it.

There's a lot more to her that the annoying loudness, though. Her big thing in FFVII is she steals the company's materia. Now, for the group, this may seem like a minor inconvenience, but they're not the only ones Yuffie's done that to. And for some people living outside a major city, that materia and what they can cast with it could possibly be what either kills the monsters out there or makes the person monster food. Which begs the question, why would she even do something like that and do it without any regard for the consequences? She's not a cold-blooded killer and she wasn't intending to accidentally murder anybody, for sure. So why'd she do it?

One word. Wutai.

Wutai is Yuffie's home. She's also the heir to its version of government and loves her country something fierce. Wutai used to be a grand and splendid country, but after the war with ShinRa, it was left devastated. The only it could survive was being turned into a tourist trap, something Yuffie hates. She swore she would restore her home to its former glory and materia is the way to do that. So she goes out and does morally ambiguous-- if not morally reprehensible-- things, all for the sake of her country. Yuffie is just bubbling over with determination and passion. It takes a lot of guts to go off, by yourself, when you're twelve years old on a mission to save your country, ninja training or no. There are very few people who would be willing to something like that as an adult, much less as a pre-teen and teenager.

That passion isn't reserved just for her country, though it holds most of it. AVALANCHE, her comrades, get it as well. When the Silver Haired Men show up in Advent Children, Yuffie answers the call and drops what she was working on back in Wutai to come to her friends' aid. When Reeve and, eventually, Vincent, need her help in Dirge of Cerberus, she helps out and sticks it out to the end. It's a subtle sort of thing, but she loves her friends like she loves her country and she would do just about anything for them, even if it would take quite a bit for her to admit anything like that out loud.

[Abilities] While Yuffie doesn't have any supernatural abilites, she is a fighter. She's a trained ninja which, by itself, makes her somewhat dangerous, especially in a fist-fight. But add into that her weapons, limit breaks and materia and she makes for a pretty decent opponent.

[Other important stuff] Guard your pockets carefully. She may not have a country to restore here, but she is still a little bit of a klepto. 8|b

[First Person]
[ she sits in a chair, though it's really more sprawled than anything, a comfortable smile on her face. ]

So, you really want to do an interview with me? Cool! I mean, it's about time someone recognized my awesomeness. [ her laugh is too loud. the reporter looks slightly out of sorts and overwhelmed as he asks the first question. ]

Describe my self in one sentence, huh... Well, that's easy! Totally badass! I'm a ninja and a thief and I could totally kick anyone's ass without any help! ... Okay, maybe a little help. But just Tifa! Not like Cloud or Cid or anything. That'd be too--

[ the reporter cuts her off with another question. ]

What? Who would put a cake in the rain? That's just stupid. It'd get ruined! So of course I'd have to save it before that happened. But if it's been left in the rain for too long it would be totally gross and icky and then you wouldn't be able to eat it and that would suck and-- Hey! Where are you going? Mr. Reporter Guy! Come back!

[Why do you want to play this character in Somarium?] I love the premise of the dream world and shared dreams. It's something I would love to play around in and explore with Yuffie since it would force her, in some ways, to try and move past the general hyperactive persona she's sitting in comfortably. The FFVII cast doesn't hurt either. ;)
[Which rule was your favorite and why?] Limited fourth wall breakage. There's nothing that throws off the RP flow than having someone go "hey! You're that person from that thing!" and the ensuing wtf-ery.
