00) What does your screen name stand for?
A freule is an unmarried noblewoman. Dutch nobility tends to have really long and ridiculous names. My dad made up Freule Indewaal tot Uitdewaal when I was a kid. I've been using it on the 'net for a while now, and I really like it.
01) Are you currently in a serious relationship?
Yes. I have a boyfriend. We're planning on moving to Utrecht and have babies together. It's kind of awesome.
02) What was your dream growing up?
I've always wanted to be a judge. There's a story there, of course, which I won't bore you with. Chances are this will happen someday. I have Plans. Plans that mostly consist of me working as a lawyer for about ten years before applying to the bench. It's not set in stone, though. Maybe I'll start my own firm, or try to get a position at a university. Who knows.
03) What talent do you wish you had?
I would love to be able to sing. It seems very freeing and very fun. Alas, I mostly sound like a dying cat :-(
04) If I bought you a drink what would it be?
Water. No, really.
05) Favorite vegetable?
Brussels sprouts. No, really!
06) What was the last book you read?
The gift of Fear bij Gavin De Becker. An eye opening read about every day risk assessment.
07) What zodiac sign are you?
Gemini
08) Any Tattoos and/or Piercings? Explain where.
I have five earrings in one ear, courtesy of an almost rebellious youth.
09) Worst Habit?
... what? I had to do dishes, do sit ups and watch tv first! (procrastination, thy name is De Freule!)
10) What is your favorite sport?
I love everything to do with water: swimming, skiing, skating.
I also do classical ballet, but I tend to consider this art, more than sports.
12) Do you have a Pessimistic or Optimistic attitude?
I'm of the 'everything will work out' persuasion.
13) Tell me one weird fact about you.
I hate cold. This is only weird if you know I lived in Stockholm, Sweden, for an entire winter, voluntarily.
14) Do you have any pets?
I'm deadly allergic to pretty much anything soft and fuzzy. So, no. I have cacti though, and a stuffed kitten named August.
15) If you could change one thing about how you look, what would it be?
I would like to loose the glasses. As soon as I can afford it I will start looking into getting Lasik.
16) What color eyes do you have?
Greyish blue. Really boring and very Dutch.
17) Ever been arrested?
No. That would be really bad for my chances of being a judge some day.
18) Bottle or can soda?
Bottle.
19) If you won €10,000 today, what would you do with it?
I really really want
this.
20) What's your favorite place to hang out at?
Bagels and Beans. Good tea, good coffee, yummie bagels and free high speed wifi. Heaven.
21) Do you believe in ghosts?
No.
22) Favorite thing to do in your spare time?
Well, there's this little thing called the Internet... Also, I knit, I hang out with friends, I hug and cuddle with the boyfriend a lot. I lead a wild and varied life :-D
23) Do you swear a lot?
No. Mostly because the Dutch language doesn't really have all that many good swear words.
24) Biggest pet peeve?
Excessive and useless (and usually terrible inaccurate) use of English in the Dutch public domain. It's a thing okay. I fully realize the irony in me keeping a blog in English, when I'm always bitching about the useless English cluttering our beautiful language.
25) In one word, how would you describe yourself?
Me.
26) Favourite and least favourite food?
I dislike red cabbage and home made applesauce for reasons that don't need exploring at this juncture. I love tuna, oysters, sushi, bagels and lots of other foods.
27) Do you believe in God?
No. Chances on me changing my mind on this are slim to none. Don't waste your time trying to convert me. Catholic schools and university and a catholic family didn't do the trick, the internet certainly isn't going to convince me.
