i'd suggest a pioneer head unit, and kicker woofers if you're getting those. alpine is also really nice, but a bit expensive.

a capacitor is something that goes between your amp and woofer. it basically works as a giant fuse, but also boosting the power going to your woofer (you'll only need one of these if you're pushing something like a Kicker L7 .. those things take a lot of power .. the L5s are just as nice, only they take less power).

if you need price ranges, let me know and i'll email you the list of stuff we sell at work.

Capacitors store electrical power to be later released. I could go on and on into detail, but then I'd sound like the electronics geek I am.

And one of the bigger projects this semester is build a robot from scratch. I'll name mine "T3h Gerry".

OOOOOOOOOMG YESSSSSSSSSS

however, just make sure he comes fully equipped with a working 10" wang. what kind of robotic gerry would he be if he couldn't make crude remarks AND back them up? :D

The Sony Xplod series is not only pretty nice, but affordable for an mp3 CD deck as well. I don't know if they support DVD in the newer models...but I paid about $220 (including the installation) for mine and I love it. Great quality. Detachable faceplate as well.

yeah but i need dvd capabilities too, and that's gonna run MUCH more than $220...

i'm looking in the $5-800 range for a head unit
