Lazy

I have made a concerted effort to not be a lazy slob when I get home from work this week and this is what I have found...I get incredibly irritable...I whine (quite like a toddler)...I can't make  a single descision for myself ( Read more... )

I've been working really hard on that not-being-lazy-after-work thing, cause I know that being lazy at all often exacerbates any depression I've got. I think exercising is a really good thing to do. I've also picked up a class that I'm really interested in and plan on going to the LGBT group on campus. My suggestion is to plan something for three nights a week (or so) and make each of those things different from one another and consistent so that you can get into a pattern and don't have to bother with planning things (which can often cause crankiness). Also plan a stop time so that you can get home, recharge, and get to sleep at a reasonable hour (my stop time is around 9 or 9:30). So far it's really working for me. I know it can be a lot more difficult when you don't have college to organize groups for you. Maybe check out the local university and see if there are any clubs you can drop in on, or check out meetup.com (I don't know if they've got stuff in NZ, but it's worth a shot). That's all I've got...I hope you can find ( ... )

Thanks for all the suggestions!! These are all excellent suggestions and I agree completely with everything you have said...I often struggle with being social and putting myself 'out there'. I have a regular quiz night I go too with a couple people and I am working on the rest...man this real world thing can be hard sometimes!

My job has become mad crappy and even tho i have to stay there at least another 9 1/2 months (till my apartment lease runs out), I've been thinking about my next step. Which may include going abroad. What are your thoughts on the New Zealand experience thus far? Because I've heard it's one of the better places to secure a year-long visa. And Melanie's aunt lives there, so I'd have a contact from the jump. Thoughts, advice, etc?
