Only a day after I say I am going to write my opinions, thoughts, and express my experiences did I run into a topic that really gets me thinking.  I was reading an article on the internet today about how Jon and Kate Gosselin are canceling their show, Jon and Kate Plus 8, and filing for divorce.  I think this is something we all knew was coming.

Hi Laura. We do not know each other but I came across your journal and was intrigued by your post. Your thoughts are something I never gave much thought to until today. We are constantly told that divorce is the worst circumstance you can put a child in. One never hears about what could happen if the parents stay together and raise their child in a negative environment. It brings to light important issues to consider when a family is falling apart. I agree with you completely and say that yes, when a marriage is broken and unable to be fixed, the best thing a couple can do for their child is to remove him or her from the unhappy and unhealthy surroundings as soon as possible

It pisses me off when people drag their kids down with them through a divorce. But it's better to go through that than deal 18+ years with utter hell with two parents that go at it 24/7. I know from experience.
