Laura marveled at how real daylight made Bill Adama look younger.

His olive skin gleaned a light bronze. The wrinkles and furrows in his face appeared shallower.

She suppressed a giggle as he wiggled his toes adorably in the sand. She had never seen his bare feet before. Despite the long hours he spent in the CIC, the skin looked reasonably soft.

He caught her staring, and dug his toes deeper into the ground. A guilty blush coloured his features. She grinned at him affectionately. He noticed.

Playfully, he nudged her foot, which was still encased in her newly acquired boot. She looked at him questioningly; he merely waggled his eyebrow.

Enticed by his brazenly flirtatious behavior and galvanized by the decadent feeling of real sunshine on her skin for the first time in several months, she toed the offending garments off. Stretching her toes, she experimentally poked at the sand.

Bill chuckled, and jostled a pile of sand over her bare foot.  The sudden warmth caused her to gasp slightly.

Her grin grew until the laughter in her chest broke free.

“It feels good,” she giggled.

“It is good,” he rasped before leaning forward to capture her lips.
