Title: The Woman Who Played With Fire
Pairing: Adama/Roslin
Rating: M
Word Count: 200 words
Disclaimer: I don't own BSG or its characters.
A/N: Written for redrockcan who gave me the prompt "playing with fire." I expect Biscotti Bill update. *ahem* Thanks to nixmom for her beta. The title was shamelessly taken from the Millennium series by Stieg Larsson.

It starts off lazy and relaxed, which suits their moods perfectly.

Their limbs are pleasantly heavy from the combination of alcohol and the local herb; yet she feels light as a feather.

His solid, sturdy frame anchors her to the ground, preventing her from floating away.

He joins his body with hers; she bites his shoulder lightly to stifle the moan in the back of her throat.

“I love you,” he whispers. His voice rises like tangy smoke, wrapping around her body, making her feel slightly dizzy.

She doesn’t respond.

“Laura, my Laura.” He continues to kiss endearments into her flushed skin.

The pleasure rises; it becomes sharper. Less like smoke and more like the ember flames spitting from the hearth.

Her back arches off of the blanket so hard she fears it’s snapped in two. She fears that he’s snapped her in two with the intensity of his love.

His hips cease their delicious thrusting. His hands and mouth can’t find the strength to leave her skin.

“Love you.” The words fall from his lips again; their eyes lock.

The flames are blue now, the most dangerous of them all.

The burning of her heart makes Laura realize that she’s been playing with fire all along.
