Saul had tried to warn him about her, said that he didn’t trust her as far as he could throw her. He had reminded Bill again and again that she was a stranger to them, a schoolteacher.
Bill had ignored his friend. He wanted to give Roslin the benefit of the doubt.
He wanted her to succeed. He wanted a President that he could be proud of; one that he could lead with.
The bullets that ripped through his chest were nothing compared to the pain that she had caused him.
Saul was right, he had been wrong.
Politicians were notorious liars.
