“No, not yet.”
“Laura, get up.”
“Make me.”
“Is that a dare Madam President?”
“I don’t know Admiral, is it? Oh! Bill, restraining my hands won’t get me out of this bed.”
“Who said anything about getting you out of the bed? I just want you coherent.”
“Whatever for?”
“There is a matter that has recently come up that requires your undivided attention.”
“Yes, I believe you are correct Admiral. How do you suggest I handle this matter?”
“I have several suggestions and I believe that we have time to test them all out.”
“All of them? Really?”
“Attention to detail and stamina seem to be areas of expertise for you, if last night was any indication.”
“And were you assessing my performance last evening? Did I execute the mission successfully and according to your standards?”
“Frak yeah. My back is still killing me.”
“Well that is a shame. I had several suggestions of my own as to how we might handle this morning’s rather urgent matter.”
“Perhaps you should start out the proceedings by taking charge of the situation? Show us who’s the boss?”
“That sounds like an excellent plan Admiral. Do I have the floor?”
“You can have anything you want.”
“Focus Admiral.”
“Right, my apologies Madam President.”
“Oooh, Gods…This was an excellent place to begin negotiations.”
“Who said anything about negotiations?”
“I presumed that we were about to debate?”
“I surrender. No negotiations needed.”
“You haven’t even heard my arguments on the matter.”
“None are needed. I assure you that you have my full cooperation.”
“Your cooperation is greatly appreciated Admiral.”
“And your leadership skills are greatly admired Madam President.”
“So glad that we could work this out in such an efficient manner.”
“I’m going to give you a work out alright...”
“Likewise my dear Admiral, likewise.”
